BRUIT

broot (shema`): A word no longer in common use (marked "archaic" and "obsolete" by Murray), signifying a rumor or report. The word occurs in the King James Version Jeremiah 10:22 (the Revised Version (British and American) "rumour"; the American Standard Revised Version "tidings") and the King James Version Nahum 3:19 (the Revised Version (British and American) "bruit," appendix. "report"; the American Standard Revised Version "report").
